Veridican Gospel of Jesus Christ

Chapter 11

1. Then Jesus and His disciples crossed a large lake in a boat, and when they arrived at the other side of the lake, a large crowd began to gather, so Jesus stayed by the lakeshore.

2. At that time, one of the religious leaders came to Him, and upon seeing Him, fell before Him at His feet and implored Him saying, "My little daughter, my only child, is at the point of death; please come and lay Your hands on her, and she will get well and live."

3. So Jesus went off with him, and a large crowd followed Jesus and pressed in on Him.

4. In that crowd, there was a woman who had an issue of bleeding for twelve years, and suffered much at the hands of physicians, and spent all she had and was not helped at all, but was made even worse.

5. After hearing about Jesus, she came up behind Him in the crowd and touched His clothes, for she said to herself, "If I just touch even His clothes, I will get well."

6. Immediately, the flow of her blood dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease.

7. But Jesus perceived that the power within Him had gone forth from Him, so He turned around in the crowed and asked, "Who touched My clothes?" But all the people denied it.

8. And His disciples said to Him, "You see the crowd all around You and yet You ask, 'Who touched My clothes?'"

9. Still Jesus looked for the one who had touched Him.

10. And the woman was in fear and was trembling, for she was aware of what had happened to her. So, she fell at Jesus' feet and told Him the whole truth.

11. And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace and be healed of your disease."

12. While He was speaking to her, they came out of the house of the religious leader and said, "Your daughter has died; why trouble the Teacher any longer?"

13. But Jesus overheard what was being said to the religious leader and said to him, "No longer be afraid; just believe."

14. And as He approached the house, Jesus allowed only the religious leader, his wife, Peter, James, and John (the brother of James) to go with Him to see the young girl.

15. And many came out of the house weeping and wailing for the loss of the girl, but Jesus said to them, "Why all the commotion? The girl is not dead, she is only sleeping."

16. At that they began to laugh at Him, but He put them all out of the house and took along the child's father and mother, and His companions, and they entered the room where the girl was.

17. Taking the girl's hand, He said to her, "Get up."

18. And immediately the spirit returned to the girl, who was twelve years old, and she got up and began to walk about, and all in the room were astounded at the miracle.

19. But Jesus gave them strict orders that no one should know about this. Then He told them to give her food to eat.

20. Thereafter, Jesus was going through the land with His disciples teaching in the temples and proclaiming the Gospel of the kingdom of God. He healed every kind of disease and sickness among the people, and the news about Him spread rapidly, and large crowds began to follow Him everywhere.

21. In one town, a military officer came to Jesus imploring Him saying, "My servant is lying paralyzed at home and is tormented and afraid of his condition."

22. Jesus said to him, "I will come and heal him."

23. But the officer said, "Lord, I am not worthy for You to enter my home, but if You just say the word, my servant will be healed. Because, I too am a man under authority, and I have soldiers under me. If I say to one, 'Do this,' or 'Do that.' I know that it will be done."

24. When Jesus heard this, He marveled at the officer's faith and said, "Truly, I have not encountered such faith in all this land.

25. "I tell you that many will come to Me from the East and West and recline with Me at My Father's table while many for whom the kingdom was created will be cast into the outer darkness where there is nothing but weeping and gnashing of teeth."

26. So, Jesus said to the officer, "Go, and it shall be done for you as you have believed." And the officer's servant was healed at that moment.
