Veridican Gospel of Jesus Christ

Chapter 46

1. Then Jesus said, "Now I am going to the one who sent Me, and no one asks Me where I am going.

2. "Instead, because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.

3. "Truly I tell you, it is better for you that I return to the Father; for if I do not return to the Father, the Spirit of Truth will not come to you, but if I go, I will send Him to you.

4. "And when He comes, He will convict the world concerning their sin, their righteousness and their judgment.

5. "He will convict them regarding their sin, because they do not believe in Me. He will convict them concerning their righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will no longer be able to see Me. And He will convict them concerning their judgment, because the ruler of this world has been condemned.

6. "So many things I have to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. But when the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you in all truth, for He will not speak by His own will, but whatever He hears from the Father, He will speak.

7. "And He will tell you about the things which are to come.

8. "He will glorify Me, because He will take from what I have and disclose it all to you. All the things the Father has are Mine; therefore, I can say that the Spirit of Truth will take what is Mine and reveal it to you.

9. "In a little while you will no longer see Me; but in a little while you will finally see Me, because I am going to the Father."

10. Then some of the disciples said to one another, "What is He saying to us? What does He mean that in a little while we will not see Him, and in a little while we will indeed see Him, because He is going to the Father? What can He mean?"

11. But Jesus knew that they were wishing to question Him, so He said to them, "Are you considering that I said, 'In a little while and you will not see Me, and then again, in a little while you will see me?

12. "Truly I tell you that you will weep and grieve, but the world will rejoice, but your grief will turn to joy.

13. "When a woman has labor, she is in pain, because her time has come; but when she delivers, she no longer remembers the pain, because the joy overtakes her when her child is born into the world.

14. "Therefore, you have grief now; but I will see you again, and you will rejoice in your heart, and no one will ever take that joy from you.

15. "Indeed, the Father, Himself, will be one with you, because you have loved Me and believed that I have come from the Father.

16. "And if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father Who is in heaven.

17. "For where two are gathered in My name, there I am in the midst of them.

18. "I have spoken these things to you in parables, but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in parables but will tell you everything directly from the Father.

19. "Behold, I came from the Father, and I have come into the world, but I am leaving the world again and returning to the Father."

20. Simon said to Him, "Now You are speaking plainly, and we can understand everything. Now we know that You know all things, and have no need for anyone to question You, and from this we know that You have come from God."

21. Jesus said to them, "But can you remain in me? If only it were so. Behold, the hour is coming, and is already here, for you to be scattered, each returning to their own home and leaving Me alone; but I am not alone, for the Father is always with Me.

22. "These things I have told you so that you may have peace in Me. For in the world you will have trouble, but have courage, for I have overcome the world."
