1. When they arrived, Jesus began to tell them His final words. He said, "Now is the Son of Man glorified and God is glorified in Him.
2. "And if the Father is glorified in His Son, the Father will glorify His Son straightaway.
3. "I am with you for only a short while longer, and though you will seek Me, you cannot go where I am going."
4. Then Peter said to Him, "Lord, I can follow You right now. I will go to prison and die for You!"
5. But Jesus said to him, "Peter, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat, but I have prayed to the Father that you will not fail, and when you have returned to Me, you will strengthen your brothers."
6. Then Peter said, "Even if everyone else falls away from You, I will never fall away. Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You."
7. And all the others agreed with Peter.
8. Jesus said, "Dear Peter, before the rooster crows at dawn, you will have denied Me three times."
9. Then He said, "You will all fall away because of Me, tonight. For when the shepherd of the sheep is struck down, the flock is scattered.
10. "But when I have been raised from the dead, I will go ahead of you to where we first met, and you will find Me there."
11. But Peter kept insisting that he would die with Him, and all the others were saying the same thing.
12. In their last hours together, Jesus taught the eleven disciples who were with Him saying, "When I sent you out with no money belt or bag, and even without extra shoes, did you lack anything?"
13. They answered Him, "We lacked nothing."
14. Then He said to them, "Now, whoever has a money belt is to take it along. Likewise whatever they have, they are to take, and whoever has no sword, sell your coat and buy one.
15. "For I tell you, I will be numbered along with the criminals, for that which refers to Me has its fulfillment."
16. And the disciples said to Him, "Lord, look. Here are two swords." And He said to them, "It is enough."
17. Then Jesus said, "Do not let your hearts be troubled; you believe in God. Believe also in Me. For in My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would tell you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.
18. "And if I go and prepare that place, I will come again and take you unto Myself, so that you will be where I am. And you already know the way to where I am going."
19. Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going; how could we ever know the way?"
20. Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
21. "If you know Me, you know My Father as well; so, from now on you do know Him and have seen Him."
22. Philip said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it will be enough for us."
23. Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you for so long and yet you do not know Me, Philip?
24. "Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words I speak to you, I do not speak by My own initiative, but the Father living in Me does His work.
25. "He who has seen Me has seen the Father. How then can you say, 'Show us the Father?'
26. "Believe Me when I tell you that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; or else believe on account of the miracles themselves.
27. "Know what is in front of your face, and what is hidden from you will be revealed.
28. "When you see the One who was not born of a woman, fall on your face and worship, for that One is your Father.
29. "Nor will I, Myself, leave you as orphans, but I will come to you. In a short while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me, and because I live, you too will live.
30. "In that day you will know that I am in My Father, with you in Me, and I in you.
31. "Truly I tell you, the one who believes in Me, the works that I do, they will do also; and greater works than these they will do, because I am returning to the Father.
32. "Then, whatever you will ask in My name, I will do so that the Father will be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.
33. "Indeed, I will ask the Father, and He will send you a helper in My name, that He may be with you forever: that is the Spirit of Truth whom the world cannot receive, because it cannot see Him or know Him.
34. "The Spirit of Truth will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. And you will know Him, because He will abide with you and will be in you."
35. Then Simon asked, "Lord, how is it that You are going to manifest Yourself to us and not to the world?"
36. And Jesus answered him saying, "The one who loves Me will keep My commandment, and that one will be loved by My Father, and I will love that one and disclose Myself to them.
37. "Behold, peace I leave with you, but the peace I give to you is not as the world gives it.
38. "Nevertheless, do not let your heart be troubled, and do not be afraid. These things I have spoken to you are so My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made complete.
39. "I will give you what no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, what no hand has touched; behold, what has not entered into the human heart."
40. Then Jesus said, "If you loved Me you would rejoice at My going away, because I go to the Father, and the Father is greater than I.
41. "I will not be here to teach you much longer, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.
42. "Therefore, I have told you all this before it happens, so that when it does, you will believe.
