Veridican Gospel of Jesus Christ

Chapter 26

1. As they went through the region, a man was brought to Him who was deaf and spoke with great difficulty, and they implored Jesus to lay His hands on him.

2. So Jesus took him aside from the crowd, by himself, and put His fingers in the man's ears, and after spitting, He touched the spittle and then touched the man's tongue.

3. And looking up to heaven, with a deep sigh He said, "Be opened." And immediately the man could hear and began to speak plainly.

4. And Jesus gave them orders to tell no one of this miracle, but the more He ordered it, the more the people proclaimed it everywhere saying, "Who is this man? He has done all things well! He makes even the deaf to hear and the mute to speak!"

5. Then a man came to Jesus and fell before Him and begged, "Lord, have mercy on my son for he is a lunatic and is very ill. He often falls into the fire or into the water.

6. "I brought him to your disciples, but they could not cure him."

7. And Jesus asked him, "How long has he been this way?" And the father answered, "Since childhood. Please, if You can do anything, take pity on us and help him."

8. Jesus said to him, "If You can? All things are possible to those who believe."

9. And the father cried out, "I do believe, but help me with my disbelief!"

10. And Jesus turned to the crowd and said, "You unbelieving and perverted generation, how long will I be with you, How long shall I put up with you? Bring him here to Me."

11. And they brought the boy, and Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and he was cured at once.

12. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, "Why could we not drive it out?"

13. And He said to them, "Because of your little faith.

14. "Truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to the sea,' and it will move and be cast into the sea.

15. "And when you make two into one--Behold, nothing shall be impossible to you.

16. "But this demon only comes out through much prayer and fasting."

17. And when He had gathered all the disciples together, He told them plainly. "I will not be with you much longer. The Son of Man will be delivered into the hands of men and they will kill Him. But He will rise again on the third day thereafter."

18. And the disciples were deeply grieved, and Mary wept openly at His feet.

19. Later, they returned to the town where Jesus had turned the water into wine, and a royal official heard of His return and went to Him, imploring Him to heal his son who was at the point of death.

20. Jesus said to him, "Unless you people see signs and wonders, you simply will not believe."

21. The nobleman said to Him, "Sir, come down now before my child dies."

22. And Jesus said, "Go, your son lives." So, the nobleman started off believing fully that Christ had healed his son.

23. As the nobleman approached his home, his workers came to him with joy saying that his son was now alive and well.

24. So, he inquired of them when he began to get better, and they said to him, "Yesterday around seven o'clock the fever left him." And the father knew that it was at that very time in which Jesus said to him, "Your son lives." And he, himself, along with his entire household believed in the Son of God.

25. After these things, Jesus stayed away from the cities, for in them the religious leaders were plotting to kill Him, and His time had not yet come.
