Veridican Gospel of Jesus Christ

Chapter 47

1. When Jesus had said these things, He lifted up His eyes to heaven and prayed, "Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son so that the Son may glorify You.

2. "You gave Me authority over all people that I might give eternal life to those I choose.

3. "And eternal life is to know the only true God, and His Son, Jesus Christ, Whom You have sent.

4. "I glorified You on Earth by doing the work You sent Me to do. Now Father, glorify Me together with You in that same glory We shared together before the creation of the world.

5. "I have shown You to the ones You have given Me out of the world, and I will keep showing You to them; for they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your Word.

6. "And now they know that everything I have is given to Me from You; for the words which You gave Me I have given to them, and they have seen and truly believed that I came forth from You, and that You sent Me.

7. "I am no longer to be in the world, but they are in the world, and I ask You, Holy Father, that You would keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one, even as we are one.

8. "I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but only on behalf of those whom You have given to Me; for they belong to You.

9. "While I was with them, I kept them in Your name which You gave to Me; and I protected them, and not one of them perished, except for the one doomed to destruction from the beginning.

10. "But now I come to You, Father; and I speak these things in the world, so that My joy may be made complete in them.

11. "I have given them Your Word, and the world hates them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

12. "I ask You not to take them out of the world, but keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world any more than I am of the world; therefore, sanctify them in the truth, and it is Your Word that is truth.

13. "I do not ask on behalf of these disciples alone, but also for the ones who will believe in Me through the words they speak, that they may all be one, even as You are in Me, and I am in You, may they also be in us.

14. "For the glory You gave to Me, I have given to them, that they may be one--I in them, and You in Me, that they may be a perfect whole, and the world will know that You sent Me and loved them, even as You have loved Me.

15. "Father, let those whom you have given to Me be with Me where I am, so that they will share in My glory."
