Veridican Gospel of Jesus Christ

Chapter 6

1. Jesus said, "You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its saltiness, what good is it? How can it ever be made salty again? It is good for nothing, except to be thrown down and trampled on. Therefore, remain in Me.

2. "There is light within a person of light, and that light shines on the whole world. If it does not shine, the world is dark.

3. "You are the light of the world. A city at night on a hill cannot be hidden, and a lamp is not put under a basket, but rather it is set up high so that it gives light to all who are near it.

4. "Therefore, let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.

5. "Do not think that I have come to destroy the law. I did not come to destroy it but to fulfill it.

6. "For truly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, nothing shall be taken away from the law until all of it is fulfilled.

7. "And until your righteousness surpasses that of the religious leaders, you can never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, remain in Me.

8. "Love one another as I have loved you. Love your neighbor as yourself.

9. "Do unto others as you would have it done unto you.

10. "But do not love only your friends; even the evildoers love their friends. Love your enemies, as well.

11. "If you only love those who love you in return what reward is that? Even the sinners return love for love. If you greet only those in your inner circle, how is that any different than a commoner? Instead, you must be greater.

12. "Do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who hurt you.

13. "Do not resist an evil person, but if someone slaps you on one cheek, turn the other to them as well.

14. "And if someone steals your coat, give them your shirt as well.

15. "Bless those who curse you, and if someone forces you to walk one mile with them, walk two instead.

16. "If someone wants to borrow from you, or asks something of you, give to them freely and do not expect them to return it.

17. "In these acts, you will find that God is in you, for He cannot be offended, and He cares for the ungrateful and evildoers. He sends rain to the just and the unjust.

18. "Therefore, be merciful, even as God is merciful. Be perfect, even as God is perfect.

19. "You have heard it said, 'Do not murder,' but I say to you that anyone who is angry with another is guilty of murder. Anyone who says to their neighbor, 'You fool!' is in danger of the fires of hell.

20. "Therefore, if you are praying to God and remember that your neighbor has something against you, stop praying and go be reconciled to your neighbor, and then return to prayer.

21. "If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them. But if they come to you and repent forgive them. If they sin against you seven times a day and seven times a day come to you and say 'I repent,' forgive them seven times a day.

22. "You have heard it said, 'Do not commit adultery,' but I tell you that any person who looks upon another with lust has already committed adultery in their heart.

23. "Therefore, if your right eye makes you sin, pluck it out and throw it away. It is better to enter the kingdom of heaven with one eye than to end up in hell with two.

24. "If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better to end up in the kingdom of heaven with one hand than to end up in hell with two.

25. "Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, and you will not be condemned. Pardon others, and you will be pardoned.

26. "For in the way that you judge others, you will be judged. How can you say to your neighbor, 'Neighbor, let me remove the speck from your eye,' when you have a beam in your own eye?

27. "And if a beam remains in your eye, then you are blind and you are leading the blind until you both fall into a pit.

28. "You hypocrite! First, remove the beam from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your neighbor's eye.

29. "Whenever you stand in prayer, forgive--if you have anything against anyone--so that your Father in heaven will also forgive your transgressions.

30. "Behold, a good tree produces good fruit, a bad tree, bad fruit. One does not find grapes among thorns. Instead, a good person produces good from the good treasure within their heart; likewise, a bad person produces only evil from the evil within them.

31. "Therefore, do not cast your pearls before swine, for they will only trample them. And why give to dogs that which is holy? They will only turn and attack you."
